Analysis of the advantages anddisadvantages of fluorescent brightener OB-1:

  • Advantages:

    • Excellent high temperature resistance: It is one of the      fluorescent brighteners with the best heat resistance among all current      fluorescent brightener products. With a melting point of 350-355°C and      being able to withstand a high temperature of 375°C, it can adapt to the      high-temperature environment in most plastic processing processes. For      plastic products that require high-temperature production, such as rigid      PVC, ABS, EVA, polystyrene, polycarbonate, etc., the whitening effect is      significant.

    • High color light intensity: The color light is      blue or blue-violet. The heavier the blue light of the brightener, the      better the whitening effect, and the less the addition amount.      Fluorescent brightener OB-1 has a considerable fluorescence intensity and      can effectively neutralize the yellow light in plastic raw materials,      resulting in a good whitening effect for products.

    • Wide application range: It has good      compatibility with most polymers and can be widely used in the whitening      of chemical fibers such as polyester fiber, nylon fiber, polypropylene      fiber, etc., as well as the whitening and brightening of plastic products      such as polypropylene plastics and various engineering plastics. It can      also be used in the conventional polymerization of polyester and nylon.

  • Disadvantages:

    • Poor weather resistance: Under the same      addition amount and temperature and humidity, the migration and      precipitation amount is large, and the product is more prone to yellowing      and discoloration. The long-term stability is not ideal. If there are      high requirements for product stability, such as plastic products exposed      outdoors for a long time, fluorescent brightener OB-1 is not suitable.
